A SELECTION OF AREAS JULIE TALKS ABOUT

  • Walk away women.
  • You can rewrite your story no matter what age you are.
  • Ways to release yourself from your personal prison sentences.
  • Perception and choice.
  • How to prevent your past from dictating your future.

Living in a small pit (mining) village in her heart of hearts, Julie knew there was more to life than the mundane job and the life she was living at that moment in time.

Julie wanted more knowing there was life outside the village.

Aged 20 whilst on holiday, she was drawn towards working overseas. The following year, Julie left the UK for Spain with no job or accommodation awaiting her arrival. Within two days she gained employment with the company of her choice. Julie spent 4 years successfully working and living overseas, before returning to the UK.

After redundancy from a bank, she joined HM Prison Service, quickly progressing from casual to full-time employment. Julie was aware the job and environment was changing her world view. She began looking for the bad in people as opposed to the good in them.

Once again, Julie wanted more, she chose a life outside those prison walls.

The stars beyond the bars.

At 40, Julie decided to train as a Counsellor. After 11 years in service, she left the prison service, continuing her training whilst also working as a Domestic Abuse Support Worker and as a Counsellor at Mind. Both positions started as voluntary and quickly progressed to paid employment.

After training and qualifying to Master’s level, Julie founded her own business in 2011 focusing on Counselling, Counselling Supervision and Personal and Professional Development, working with a diverse range of clients and Supervisees.

At 60, Julie decided to fully focus on the Personal and Professional Development side of her business. She works with ethical value-led professionals, founders and business owners, wanting to design a business and life that’s aligned with who they truly are.

Aside from what has happened to and impacted clients, Julie recognises how many individuals are unconsciously institutionalised in their relationships, business or profession. Despite wanting more, familiarity, the past and feeling safe, effectively means they’re locking themselves in their personal prison.

Julie sees the ‘Stars Beyond the Bars’ of those personal prisons and wants as many people as possible to experience the happiness, freedom and ripple effect of living life their way.
